- Federal Reserve:
- Held rates steady at 4.25%–4.50% (as expected).
- Still projects two rate cuts (50 bps).
- Raised inflation outlook for 2025, and lowered GDP growth expectations for this year.
- Cited rising uncertainty around the economic outlook due to tariffs and slowing growth.
- Retail Sales (February):
- Headline number: rose 0.2% (below expectations of up 0.7%).
- Control group (ex-autos & restaurants): rose 1% (beat forecast of up 0.4%).
