- The S&P 500 was up 2.2% for the week.
- Nasdaq was up 2.4% for the week.
- Oil fell another 1.6% for the week.
- We are now at $75 a barrel.
- Lower oil prices acts as a deflationary pressure.
- Economic Data – Stock rally attributes:
- Core CPI data came out better than expected.
- Inflation came down.
- Headline CPI fell from 3.7 to 3.2.
- Core CPI fell from 4.1% to 4%.
- Retail sales did a little better than expected.
- Upward revision to prior month.
- Economy is slowing down a bit but there is no sign of a recession.
- Rally continues to be very narrow.
- Core CPI data came out better than expected.
